Who We Are
The Central Rocky Mountain Permaculture Institute is a Permaculture training and counseling research and development center. It is part of an alliance of Permaculture activists on the cutting edge of agroforestry and other newly discovered methods of organic farming.
CRMPI's main facility is located at 7,000 ft elevation in the Rocky Mountains just outside Basalt Colorado USA. CRMPI's founder Jerome Osentowski started the Institute in 1987. Jerome has been teaching and running Permaculture courses around the world for over 17 years.
What We Offer
CRMPI sponsors a variety of educational courses and weekend workshops locally and internationally. Our main workshop this year is our 17th annual Permaculture Design Course featuring nationally known instructors.
We also offer consulting services for Permaculture design, greenhouse design, and ecological golf course design. Our Director, Jerome Osentowski is available to make presentations or teach workshops at other locations as well.
CRMPI teaches, consults, and demonstrates ecological land use, Permaculture workshops, forest gardens and more. With working Garden examples on site, CRMPI makes an excellent place for Teaching, Learning, and developing an understanding of Permaculture and it's uses in the world. CRMPI Gardens features an integrated forest-garden landscape of greenhouses, terraced beds, diverse plant species, and orchards.
Our other activities include a 5-year old demonstration farm in Nicaragua.
We have also started Eco Systems Design Inc., a new company
that does consulting on golf courses, Natural weed control and re-vegetation,
Edible landscaping, and High Altitude Greenhouse design and management.
We also have an edible landscaping nursery on site.
